To envy, to compare, and to be positive. . .it's our choice!

Okay, i officially can't sleep. Thanks to the ice caramel latte i had this afternoon. I never think it would affect me this much. ●(╥__╥)● So, please let me talked to myself a little bit.

Life has been too easy for me lately. . . .inspite of all the black out i got -thanks to the flood. I mean, i've got to know that my best friends care about me, a little too much -that even i didn't realize. I've got things i was eyeing for years or months or even weeks -like iphone, got acknowledged, finally get the ModCloth gift certificate (thanks to kak Clara for her helps and support -uber nice, really), won the giveaway Ruby & Rosa held, and much more. . . I even have long chat with friends i haven't talked for so long due to our mismatch time. I also tried my best to keep this blog updated, and my undergrad. thesis on track. I found the urge to talk about business with my cousin and i hope we can meet soon. To finally trying to improve my english seriously, for the speaking part mostly. As for japanese . . . i'm still trying to find the right time and place to talk to my parents again about taking japanese class. Oh, how madly i fall for japan to actually want to learn the language since i was in junior high.

To get what you wanted, you have to find the right time, right place, right mood and the right person to get it done. A little bit mistake and you have to say goodbye to your wish or be more patient to try your luck again later. I always observe first what the topic is, when should i talk, how should i begin (and what next), and who i should talk to. Sometimes i need more time to think and talk, sometimes i just talk like it's nothing. Not everything are going like i predicted, but if i didn't try, i wouldn't know the result.

It's not good somehow, to get what i wanted so easily when i was raised with siblings. Yes, we tend to envy the others. Why is she cleverer? Why is she prettier? Why is she more talented? Why she always get what she wants? and more. . . I used to compare myself to my sister, but now i think it's pretty useless. I knew 100% that i have things my sisters don't have, and i don't have what my sisters have. It's pretty fair. It made us complete each other. Sometimes we fight for small things, and sometimes for big things. But we always make up. Sometimes we envy the others, but sometimes we're proud of ourselves for being more than the others.

The problem lays when one party can't see what they have -the positive side the others don't have.

When you only give room for envy to spread its wings, then the darkness overcome you. The envy feeling will be unbearable and turned you into an ugly bitch. The world will seems so unfair to you -thanks to your negative feelings. Every dark side begin from a small seed, yet you keep on watering them, giving unlimited space for them to grow and hold you tight in their embrace. The only way to set yourself free is to change the way you see things -or even the world. Change yourself to be positive, to see things wisely. You're allowed to get mad, to feel irritated, but end those negative feelings before the sun sets. Let them fly out of your heart. Then, think rationally. Use your reasoning skill, and trust your heart. It is said that the voice from your heart was actually God's whispers.

The key point is to see things positively.

You might get hurts, and yes, people never forget. But to forgive it's a different matter.

"To forgive doesn't mean we have to forget.
To give in doesn't mean we lose.
To understand doesn't mean we have to accept.
To accept doesn't mean we have to do it."

Well, a should-be-short talk turn to be a long one. Sorry for that. (* ̄m ̄) Oh btw, how're you? I hope you're all fine, specially you who live in Jakarta. I'm safe this year that the flood didn't come in to my house. Anyway, let's pray so the flood won't come back for the year and for the people who're still in the middle of the flood.

  12. that skirt is super gorgeous! oh tell me about sibling rivalry. my sister and i went through the times where we envy each other and fought about trivial things too, but thankfully now that we've both matured we got over that phase. it's great that you have apparently harvested lessons out of such experiences though, looking at the bigger picture enables you to appreciate the kind of relationship you have with them and eventually love them even more.

  14. i used to compare myself with my friends and envy them back when i'm in junior high school. but later in life, i find what my power and positive sides really are, and that makes me stop comparing and be grateful instead. I've been a full of gratitude kind of person ever since. envy does come in the way sometimes, but i got i under control now :) it's really great to read a post like this, full of honesty and eye opening! and you look great too, love your popping color skirt!
