Hello! As always, I never really write back here.... Life, so far so good; with a bit of school project that takes 85% of my times. It's the last project before I have to face my exam and final presentation and got my oh-so-deserved-holiday.

Not much happening after my winter holiday, but good vibes. Sure, the projects are killing me deep inside, but the praises got me hang in the cliff. Seriously. Before my winter break, I felt like I made a mistake by coming to Tokyo, and what not, all my school scores are not that good; just your usual B and B- there and there.. Forgive me not, if I stayed at Jakarta, I would be graduated already and had my own brand. But scratch that, I'm stuck with the school still.....

I really hated my life 2 months ago, and was thinking what should I do to actually be free.... I was able to hang on until the last moment before I actually broke down that I have to talk to my teacher about this shitty problem of mine. Her encouragement was really helpful and made me feel better. She pointed out my improvement in those 9 months and trying to convince me to talk on her if something happening or I have problems. Thanks to her (and my lovely translator and friends), I were able to go through my crisis.

Seriously, kids! If you're thinking to go to fashion school and thinking like it's only drawing and sewing, with a lot of free time to go shopping, or the chances to attend fashion show and be a blogger, better think twice, no, hundreds time before you actually enrolled to one (and if someone actually say it in front of me, then I'll make sure to punch them in the face).

The real fashion school is hell. Believe me! Unless it's your true passion, don't even try to dip your feet there. Sure, the main subjects are design and pattern-making class that consist of drawing, coloring, and sewing; but it doesn't stop there........

In design class:

You have to do research,

have yourself inspired and full of imagination while there's no time to find inspiration because you're stuck inside the classroom or your room doing your project,

keep up with the trend,

be as creative as f*ck when trying to figure what kind of original fabric and print without being accused as copy-cat;

and in the same time still have to connect with your project theme and concept,

have to discover your preference and style in design,

have to come up with around 30 design every project,

have an illustrator skill and able to do more than one technique to draw and color your design,

have a photoshop and illustrator skill,

have to come up with new silhouette and details for your collection.

In pattern-making class:

have your logic running in pattern class,

able to do basic math,

have to analyze your design and come up with the measurement,

able to imagine how the lines will form the silhouette and work from there,

have to be super careful when tracing,

have to keep redoing your pattern to be able to make the right silhouette based on your design,

able to do CAD for pattern (computer based pattern-making) that's confusing as hell,

have to remember all the step when sewing,

make sure it's sewn right on the seam line or you have to redo it,

have to remember to iron your fabric before cutting, after some sewing step, and after finish sewing,

and there're other classes as well.....

history, croquis, 3D class, computer class, and some might have fashion marketing class......

Some of us might not have time to shower before go to school, have to put make-up on our way to school or just give up on putting make-up, and pull all-nighter every now and then....

All you see on instagram is just the tiny bit of our school life....... that glamorous life, it's just the 1%....

But then, when you're finished with the sewing process and can actually wear your own creation, all your all-nighter, your tears, your hard work are paid off.... and it's totally worth it! :)

How're you guys doing? So far so good?

Mine is not as good, the stress from the school projects starts to tire me out. I've been feeling so sleepy lately and don't have much energy to be as cheerful as before. I need a short escape... ƪ( ● ▿▿▿▿ ● )ʃ

Speaking of short escape, last month I went to Osaka to fulfill my dream of Harry Potter world in USJ. I finally got a taste of Butterbear and got a taste of the wizard world. If you don't want to waste your time in the line, you have to buy express ticket to Harry Potter world (can be used for 2 attraction).

If you're going to Japan with tour group, your USJ ticket should have been included inside the package, but if you're going by yourself, I recommend you to go to japanese local tour company (usually can be found in the station or some department store). They will give you the best deal ever! The package is included 3-4 star hotel, round trip shinkansen tickets, and the USJ ticket (if you want to buy express ticket, you can buy from them too).

It was in Halloween season when I go so the theme park was actually being decorated in Halloween theme. Not to mention they open seasonal haunted houses and after the sun set, the staff were going around the park in zombie and other halloween characters' costume. They actually chase the visitor.. It was so fun. Please note the season when you're visiting! Around december, all the theme park will be decorated in christmas theme, so don't miss it!

It was such a short trip because I only have several day off before school started again. After spending the first day inside the theme park, I spent the second day around Dotonbori area to fulfill my friend's dream of tasting okonomiyaki and takoyaki in Osaka. :D After Dotonbori we went to Gudetama Cafe, but it will be written in other post, so wait for it! :) In the evening we went back to Tokyo with shinkansen again... 

Before I say goodbye, let's see the highlight of the tour...

Our Hotel ♡

We got Sheraton hotel in our tour package. The room was quite big and comfortable! So did the bathroom... After two years living in Japan, finally I can get to rest my body in the bathtub and having a relaxing bath...

Food ♡

Basically we only eat this takoyaki and okonomiyaki before we went back to Tokyo ^^a we didn't eat a lot, so these food actually satisfied our tummy for the day.

Hello from Japan! Long time no see~

This time I'm going to share my short autumn gateway to Kinugawa Onsen, and my side trip to Nikko. Lately I seemed to post about my trip journal rather than fashion-related-stuff, but it's okay. This trip is a 2 days 1 night trip, as I spent my first day at Nikko.

I went to Shinkyo bridge, Toshogu shrine; but it was under maintenance, Futarasan Shrine, and Tomozawa Imperial Villa. I actually wanted to go to Lake Chuzenji and Ryuzu waterfall, but since it's passed their peak season, the turist information center didn't recommend me to go there. I also supposed to go to Kangmangafuchi Abyss and Botanical garden since it's supposed to be near Tomozawa Imperial Villa, but i couldn't find the way there by walking. In the end, I run out of time and need to catch the train to go to Kinugawa onsen. Well, there always next time. ;)

 And the Tomazawa Imperial Villa....

 

I only ate dinner and have a good rest on the hotel that night, as I prepared myself to get up at 6.30 in the morning to enjoy myself in their open air onsen, before had a breakfast. It was a beautiful onsen, but I didn't expect a lot of ladies was there when I opened the door.

I checked out the hotel early that day to go to the trick art museum they have there. The satff was kind enough to help me take pictures since I was alone. It's not a big place, so 1 hour is enough time to spend there taking pictures (and even help me with pose recommendation).

It was a fun trip! Some of my friends was shocked when they know I went there alone, but for me, it's a common thing to do. Since it's impossible to always go with family or friends due to different taste and schedule, I think it's better to be brave and explore as much as you want when you're young! :) So when you think you need a gateaway, it's always a fine choice to go explore the world alone ;)
